Football World Cup 2022 kicks off in Qatar with a colorful opening ceremony

The Football World Cup 2022 in Qatar started with a colorful opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 was held at Al Bait Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

The opening ceremony showcased the colors of Arabic culture, a video before the official opening ceremony showed whales and sharks swimming under the sea, and camels and artists danced at the start of the ceremony.

In the opening ceremony, famous Bollywood actor Morgan Freeman gave a message of hope, unity, and tolerance.

The artists also performed with the flags of the teams participating in the World Cup, then the official mascot of the World Cup football was brought to the field.

Singer Jong Kook of South Korea's popular music band, BTS, performed the official World Cup song, Dreamers, along with famous Qatari artist Fahad Al-Khubasi.

Dance and music were also organized at the event, with a large number of fans present in the stadium.

France's 1998 World Cup-winning team member Marcel Desailly unveiled the FIFA trophy.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, announced the formal opening of the World Cup, while addressing the opening ceremony, he said that the Football World Cup event today brought together all nationalities and beliefs in one place, from Qatar and the Arab world. Other world leaders including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, UAE Vice President and Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also attended the event.

After the speech of the Emir of Qatar, fireworks were also displayed and the short but solemn ceremony came to an end.
